Our families have been sharing their stories with us. Here’s some of their kind words and photos.
Hi Lisa- Just wanted to send you a message saying HOW MUCH we appreciated you making our family a blanket… our baby girl is 5 weeks old now, and my husband was unable to be home for the birth, (but was able to skype the c-section)… he will be home in a few weeks for RR to meet her (finally!) The blanket seriously meant so much to us… my husband really liked sleeping with it, sending it home, and knowing that the blanket was for her… (he actually got used to sleeping with it so he was kind of sad to send it home!
)
I’ve attached a picture of her, with her “daddy blanket” and her “daddy doll”… again, thank you so much- it means so much to all of us… we love it!
God Bless,
Sarah

Thank you soo very much for the blanket. It is beautiful. I had my daughter on Feb 13 at 1128am. Her name is Neiko. She was 7lbs 4ozs and 19 1/2 inches long. I have enclosed a picture of her with the blanket. Thank you so much for it. I know that my husband and I will cherish it for forever and I am sure when she gets old enough to understand the meaning behind it she will as well.

Lisa,
I wanted to make sure that I sent another HUGE Thank you! We have given out the last blanket at the airport yesterday to the last group of soldiers coming home from a mission overseas. There were many new mothers and new fathers there with babies who had never met their fathers.. it was amazing to see some of the faces, reactions and emotions when we handed some of these blankets to them.
We know that the intent with the blanket is for the father or mother to get a sent on it and the child will feel comforted while they are away on deployments.. These troops will eventually be shipping out again due to PA being one of the largest groups to continuously deploying.. We figured the child gets attached to that blanket and has memories and the sent of mom or dad on it that whole time and then when they are gone they will still have that blanket to have the memories and smell to comfort still.
Again, thank you a million times and then some!! We are forever grateful for the thought that went into these blankets and the organization you have formed to provide this.
Please keep up your hard work and efforts!
Happy Holidays!

Dear Lisa and Nikki-
Thank you so much for sending the blanket this summer. I can not tell you how much the baby loves the it. My husband was able to see [our son] rolling around on the floor last week with the blanket on our webcam. He couldn’t believe it and said how amazing it is that he plays with it more than his toys.
I am sorry it took me so long to get the pictures to you. I had them for weeks and just didn’t get to download them from the camera. The biggest issue is that I can’t mail it to my husband to get his “scent” on it again b/c the baby has it with him at all times!!! I will have to wait until his 2 week leave in this winter!
THANK YOU AGAIN! I couldn’t believe how much it actually meant to my husband when I brought it to him to sleep with it for his scent. He was so happy someone told me about your website! I hope you enjoy the pictures! [Our son] truly does love it!

Miss L,
Hi, my name is SGT Joseph C.. I recently received a blanket you made. I first off wanted to thank you, this means a lot to my wife & I. & also attach some pictures of my family, & once I take some pictures of myself with the blanket I will of course send them to you as well, as well as introduce myself.
So you can call me Joe, & I am on my 2nd tour to Iraq. My wife is also 22, & if she hadn’t told you already, we recently had our first child, a beautiful smiling little girl named Lilliana. I was un able to make it home for the birth, but 3 months later I got to meet her on my mid-tour from here. Words can never express the depth of love I felt when I was able to hold our Lily for the first time. But as all good things usually end up, it had to end. & those short 18 days have really been all the time I’ve had with my daughter. Save for the webcams when the net is not being very slow & the phone calls when able. So it means a lot I am able to share myself with my daughter in any way possible, especially through this blanket, it means so very much to me! I know my wife appreciates it so much to, because once she found out about this program she was ecstatic, & let me know right away!
Alright my times about up, but like I said it means a lot. So thank you from the bottom of my heart, & when I get the pictures of the blanket & I, I will send them off to you asap.
Thanks again…
Sincerely,
Joe
Ladies,
I just wanted to drop you an e-mail an express my sincere appreciation for your Hugs and Kisses Blankets. Your names were on the card sent to my husband in Balad, Iraq. He just mailed them back to our 9 month old twins he hasn’t seen since they were 4 months old. They are curled up with them in their cribs tonight. What you do is remarkable….
My Sincere Thanks,
Kristin D.

I just want to thank you for this wonderful service. My kids love their blankets and they bring them much comfort and joy. You are doing a wonderful thing for the children.
Here is a picture of Max with his daddy blanket. His sister, Sophie, is off at Camp Operation Purple this week and took her blanket with her!

I did get the blanket you sent me, and my son loves it. It is very cute, and the perfect size for him. I have been a little busy since my husband informed me that he was hit by a roadside bomb. He is finally out of the hospital, but is not able to go on missions for another 2-4 weeks from what I understand. I received the blanket on the same day he called me, and have been a nervous wreck worrying about him. Thank You Very Very Much!!!!!

Thank you so much for the blanket, although I have not seen it yet. My Husband was quite pleased. Our baby is due any day now. Hopefully Daddy will stop sleeping with it soon and send it to us! LOL
Thank you again, the kindness that we have been shown by so many is very touching.

I just wanted to say a great big THANKS for the beautiful blanket. My daughter already has a special blanket that she sleeps with, so I was a little worried that she may not take to her new “Daddy Blankie.” Much to my surprise and delight, she LOVES her blanket! Not only does she want it to sleep with, it has to be in the car seat while riding in the car, and is now the new best blanket for playing peek-a-boo! She has just discovered that there are holes in the blanket that she can peek through!! I got the blanket back from my husband almost two months ago, and it is just now beginning to lose it’s scent. I think we will be purchasing a new one so that she will always have her “Daddy Blankie” with her, and not have to wait for it to go to Iraq, hang out with Daddy for a while, and then be sent back in the mail! I am including a few pictures for you to see of Miss Piper Rose and her new favorite blanket, feel free to share them any way you like!!
Thank you so much for all that you do for our military Families!!
